ABM Industries Incorporated and its subsidiaries provide janitorial, parking, security, and engineering services for commercial, industrial, institutional, and retail facilities in the United States and in British Columbia, Canada. The company operates in four segments: Janitorial, Parking, Security, and Engineering. The Janitorial segment offers floor cleaning and finishing, window washing, furniture polishing, and carpet cleaning and dusting services, as well as other building cleaning services to commercial office buildings, industrial plants, financial institutions, retail stores, shopping centers, warehouses, airport terminals, health and educational facilities, stadiums and arenas, and government buildings. The Parking segment operates approximately 1,775 parking lots and garages at various airports, including Austin and Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas; Denver, Colorado; Honolulu, Hawaii; Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota; Omaha, Nebraska; Orlando and Tampa, Florida; and San Jose, California. It also has off-airport parking facilities in Houston, Texas, and San Diego, California, as well as offers parking shuttle bus services at an additional 40 airports. The Security segment provides security officers and investigative services; involves in electronic monitoring of fire, life safety systems, and access control devices; and offers security consulting services. The Engineering segment provides facilities with on-site engineers to operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems utilizing computerized maintenance management systems. The company was founded in 1909 and is headquartered in San Francisco, California.
