It sells and markets its products through food brokers and distributors in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. American Italian Pasta Company was founded in 1986 and is based in Kansas City, Missouri.

PLB produces and markets more than 175 dry pasta shapes to retail and institutional markets in North America. For the 6 months ended 04/01/05 revenues fell 7% to $199.2M. Net income fell 71% to $4.5M. Revenues reflect a decrease in institutional sales volumes due to the idling of the Kenosha facility and a challenging industry environment. Net income also suffered from lower margins due to competitive market conditions.
