Aleris International, Inc. engages in the manufacture of rolled aluminum products in North America, as well as in the recycling of aluminum and the production of specification alloys worldwide. The company’s aluminum recycling operations include converting scrap and dross, and delivering the recycled aluminum in molten or ingot form. Its aluminum products consist of flat rolled sheet, castings, and extrusions. In addition, Aleris International manufactures zinc products that include zinc oxide, zinc dust, and zinc metal, which are used in the vulcanization of rubber products, manufacture of galvanized steel, production of corrosion-resistant paint, and specialty chemicals applications. The company offers its products and services to transportation, containers and packaging, consumer durables, building and construction, and metal distribution industries, as well as to distributors. As of March 16, 2006, it operated 42 production facilities in the United States, Brazil, Germany, Mexico, and Wales. Aleris International was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Beachwood, Ohio.

For the nine months ended 30 September 2006, Aleris International, Inc.'s revenues rose 81% to $3.26B. Net income fell 25% to $59.4M.
