Banco Bradesco S.A. provides a range of banking and financial products and services in Brazil and internationally to individuals, small to mid-sized companies, and local and international corporations and institutions. It operates in two segments, Banking, and Insurance, Pension Plans, and Certificated Savings Plans. The Banking segment comprises deposit-taking activities, individual and corporate banking services, credit operations, credit and debit card services, leasing operations, investment banking, international banking, asset management, and consortium services. The Insurance, Pension Plans, and Certificated Savings Plans segment offers various products and services, including life and personal accident insurance; health insurance; automobile insurance; property and casualty insurance; individual and corporate pension plans; certified savings plans; and pension investment contracts, such as redeemable life insurance plans, and redeemable private pension plans. As of December 31, 2007, Banco Bradesco S.A. operated a network of 3,160 branches, 25,974 ATMs, and 2,776 special banking service posts and outlets in Brazil. It also operated five branches and seven subsidiaries in New York, London, the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, Japan, Hong Kong, Argentina, and Luxembourg. Banco Bradesco S.A. was formerly known as Banco Brasileiro de Descontos S.A. The company was founded in 1943 and is headquartered in Osasco, Brazil.

For the nine months ended 30 September 2006, Banco Bradesco S.A.'s revenue rose 23% to R$22.85B. Net interest after loan loss provision increase 13% to R$10.21B. Net income rose 17% to R$4.05B. Revenue reflects higher income from financial intermediation. Net income reflects higher fee, non-operating, miscellaneous and retained premium income. Earnings also benefited from lower pension, savings draws and redemption expenses.
