Quantum Corporation provides storage, backup, recovery, and archive solutions in the United States and internationally. It operates in two segments, Tape Drive and Storage Systems. The Tape Drive segment designs, develops, licenses, services, and markets tape drives and tape media cartridges. Its products include DLT-S series and DLT-V series tape drives and associated tape media cartridges; DAT 72 tape drive solutions; DDS-4 and DDS-3 products; a range of DAT 72 and DDS tape media and cleaning cartridges; LTO-3 and LTO-2 drives, LTO-2 HH internal drive, and a range of LTO tape media and cleaning cartridges; data protection drives for workstations and entry-level servers; and DLT and Super DLT products that are used to back up large amounts of data stored on network servers. The Storage Systems segment designs, develops, manufactures, markets, and sells a portfolio of tape libraries, autoloaders, and disk-based backup systems. Its products include GoVault Removable Drive, a removable and ruggedized backup, archive, and disaster recovery solution; Autoloader DDS-4, an entry-level backup automation product for PC or small workgroup data protection; Autoloader DAT 72; ValueLoader that is designed for the desktop or standard 19-inch rack; SuperLoader tape library, a scalable tape autoloader M-Series family of tape libraries; and PX500 libraries. In addition, this segment offers PX720 Library; Echelon platform of disk-based backup systems; and DPM5500 disk-based backup appliances, as well as StorageCare services. The company markets its products directly to third-party distributors, value added resellers, original equipment manufacturers, and end customers through a worldwide sales force. Quantum Corporation has strategic licensing partnership with Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd.; Hitachi Maxell, Ltd.; and Sony Corporation. The company was founded in 1980 and is headquartered in San Jose, California.

For the three months ended 30 June 2006, Quantum Corporation's revenues fell 10% to $186.6M. Net loss fell 35% to $3.6M. Revenues reflect lower product revenue and decreased royalty income.
