This group also owns and develops land into master-planned communities and mixed-use projects. Forest City’s assets are primarily located in New York City/Philadelphia metropolitan area, Denver, Boston, greater Washington D.C./Baltimore metropolitan area, and California in the United States. The company was founded in 1920 and is headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio.

For the three months ended 30 April 2006, Forest City Enterprises, Inc.'s, revenues decreased 2% to $289.4M. Net income from continuing operations decreased 66% to $7.9M. Revenues reflect lower sales from Commercial Group Land division and decreased sales from Land Development Group division. Net income was partially offset by higher depreciation & amortization charges, increased operating expenses and higher interest expenses.
