Interstate Bakeries Corporation sells its bread products through national mass merchandisers and supermarkets, and sweet goods through national mass merchandisers, supermarkets, and convenience stores. The company was founded in 1927 and is based in Kansas City, Missouri. On September 22, 2004, Interstate Bakeries Corporation, along with its affiliates, filed a voluntary petition for reorganization under Chapter 11 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri, Kansas City.
