The Licensing segment engages in the business of licensing the merchandising rights to popular childrens television series, properties, and product concepts. It acts as merchandising agent to grant licenses for third parties to manufacture and sell various merchandise, including toys, videogames, trading cards, apparel, housewares, footwear, books, and other published materials in the United Kingdom and European marketplaces. The Advertising Media and Broadcast segment, through an agreement with Fox Broadcasting Corporation, leases Foxs Saturday morning programming block, as well as provides programming content to be broadcast on 4Kids TV. It also has an agreement with The CW Network, LLC, to program CW's Saturday morning children's programming block. The Television and Film Production/Distribution segment produces and adapts animated and live-action television programs and theatrical motion pictures for distribution to the domestic and international television, home video, and theatrical markets. It also composes original music for incorporating into television programming, and markets and manages such music, as well as distributes home videos associated with television programming. The Trading Card and Game Distribution segment comprises the companys 55% interest in TC Digital Games LLC, which produces, markets, and distributes the Chaotic trading card game. In addition, the company, through its wholly owned subsidiary, 4Kids Websites, Inc., owns 55% interest in TC Websites LLC, which owns and operates chaoticgame.com. a companion Website for the Chaotic trading card game. 4Kids Entertainment was founded in 1970 and is based in New York, New York.
