KT Corporation provides integrated telecommunications services in Korea. It offers telephone services, including local, domestic, and international long-distance fixed-line telephone services, as well as interconnection services to other telecommunications companies. The company also provides broadband Internet access and other Internet-related services, including IP-TV services; and PCS mobile telecommunications service, and third-generation HSDPA-based IMT-2000 wireless Internet and video multimedia communications services. In addition, the company offers various other services, including leased line and other data communication services, satellite services, and information technology and network services. Further, it engages in real estate development, and sale of handsets. KT Corporation was formerly known as Korea Telecom Corp. and changed its name to KT Corporation in March 2002. The company was founded in 1981 and is headquartered in Sungnam, South Korea.

For the six months ended 30 June 2006, KT Corporation's revenues rose 4% to W8.798T. Net income after U.S GAAP rose 17% to W750.15B. Revenues reflect increased internet services revenue, higher data communications serives revenue and higher telephone services income. Net income also reflects higher foreign currency gain, increased interest income and lower reversal of accrued expenses for customer call bonus.
