Pointe Financial Corporation is a bank holding company, whose principal business is operating its commercial bank subsidiary, Pointe Bank (the Bank). The Bank makes commercial, consumer and real estate loans. It attracts both short-term and long-term deposits from the Company's primary market area by offering an assortment of accounts and rates. It offers checking accounts (both interest bearing and non-interest bearing), money market accounts, savings accounts, fixed interest rate certificates of deposits with varying maturities and individual retirement accounts. Pointe derives revenues principally from interest income earned on loans and securities, fee income associated with loans serviced and originated, service charges on depository accounts and the sale of assets designated as available for sale.

For the fiscal year ended 12/31/04, total interest income increased 12% to $20.6 million. Net interest income after loss provision increased 15% to $15.6 million. Net income increased 22% to $3M. Net interest income reflects the increase in interest-earnings assets and lower interest paid on deposits. Net income also benefited from higher service charges received.
