In addition, this division provides reinsurance products and services. The Investments segment invests in fixed maturity investments, equity securities, short-term investments, and other investments primarily in Parsippany, New Jersey. The Diversified Insurance Services segment provides human resource administration outsourcing products and services; and federal flood insurance administrative services. Selective Insurance Group, Inc. was founded in 1925 and is based in Branchville, New Jersey.

For the nine months ended 30 September 2006, Selective Insurance Group's revenues increased 9% to $1.35B. Net income from continuing operations before accounting change increased 15% to $120M. Revenues reflect increased income from net premiums earned, higher net investment income, increased diversified insurance services revenue and higher other income. Net income also reflects higher gross margins and lower dividends to policyholders cost.
