| DIMON Incorporated is an independent leaf tobacco merchant in the United States. The Company suppplies tobacco leaves to manufacturers of cigarettes and other consumer tobacco products in 90 countries around the world. DIMON's revenues are comprised of sales of processed tobacco and fees charged for processing, as well as related services to manufacturers of tobacco products around the world. The Company does not manufacture cigarettes or other consumer tobacco products. DIMON deals primarily in flue-cured, burley and oriental tobaccos that are used in branded cigarettes. Brand cigarettes include Virginia cigarettes that contain only flue-cured tobaccos, as well as American blend cigarettes. American blend cigarettes contain approximately 50% flue-cured, 37% burley and 13% oriental tobacco, contain less tar and nicotine and taste milder than locally produced cigarettes containing dark and semi-oriental tobacco. | Standard Commercial Corporation is an independent leaf tobacco merchant. It has developed an international network through which it purchases, processes, stores, sells and ships tobacco grown in over 30 countries, servicing cigarette manufacturers from 22 processing facilities strategically located throughout the world, including the export markets for flue-cured, burley and oriental tobacco, such as the United States, Brazil, Malawi and Turkey. Its revenues primarily consist of sales of processed tobacco and fees charged for processing and related services to manufacturers of tobacco products. The Company has operating agreements or access to processing facilities in Brazil, Canada, China and Kenya.
